I started writing this ages ago when I first saw the illustrations of Paul Plumadore. Inspired by his playful collages that he had assembled from nineteenth century newspaper clippings and old engravings, I began to piece together this story, and together we created Mendicott. Since then we've been ever hopeful that she will find a wider audience than just us two and the few friends who have enjoyed her story, but alas, no one has come along to publish her. Yet.
